China strain clamp is used to secure wires and sustain their tension. China strain clamps fall into two categories based on various installation scenarios and structural configurations. There are two types of China strain clamps: bolt-type and wedge-type. Both types must be able to bear the entire tensile force applied to the conductor, and the clamp's gripping force must equal or exceed 90% of the conductor's rated tensile strength. After installation, this kind of cord clamp can be taken off and reused. The other is a tension clamp, which serves as a conductor in addition to withstanding the wire's full tensile force.

Non-detachable clamps, such as compression dead end tension clamp which requires absolute matching to the conductor length.
